Psychotherapy
HOW CAN IT HELP?
Psychotherapy is the practice of mental health treatment that is intended to improve one's well-being. The decision to begin the journey of psychotherapy is a courageous one. Therapy ignites the possibility of change by drawing from past experiences and understanding how they affect the present. The benefits of therapy work include personal growth through goal achievement, development of coping strategies, increased self-awareness, and improvements in interpersonal relationships. The therapeutic relationship is a safe and secure base to explore one's inner emotional world as it becomes a powerful tool in the therapeutic change process.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation to better support you to make an informed decision about therapy. Here we talk more about your needs and how I may support you.
There are several steps to the therapeutic process. Initially we work collaboratively to tailor the treatment to your unique needs. We will meet regularly where I may guide you using specific modalities to help you to achieve your therapy goals.
In the final stages of therapy you may notice felt changes. This is where the treatment experience is processed and explored while new goals for the future are generated.

Therapy Approach
These are some of the therapeutic modalities I may use in our sessions depending on what is right for you:
Internal Family Systems Model (IFS)
IFS is a type of psychotherapy that supports clients to access and heal their wounded and protective inner parts. IFS uses evidenced based methods to create inner and outer connectedness by helping one to first access their true Self and, from that core, understand and heal their parts.
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
When working with couples, I like to use Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) which is clinically researched and proven to help support couples suffering from distress in their relationship. EFT helps couples to identify patterns that block each partner from getting their needs met and together, learn how to stop the pattern.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT is a specific type of psychotherapy that helps one to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. It follows a 12-session structured psychotherapy framework that is highly effective for the treatment of PTSD symptoms and related disorders.
Treatment for individuals, couples and teens.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples and teens 16 years-old and older that may be struggling with their lives in the present. I am honoured that your are here and would be happy to assist you while you explore new elements of change. I will be joining you in your experience and believe that you are the expert of your needs. I provide an opportunity for partnership where together, along with your process of exploration, we embark on the road to healing.
